As it happens, real men do eat quiche. And, real leaders choose to say “WE”, not “I”. Why? Because, doing so is the right thing to do. And, it matters.
Your people need to know and trust that “we” really does mean “we”. Leaders who choose otherwise, will turn around and find theirs are the only hands on deck, when they requested it be “all hands on deck”. It is said it is lonely at the top, but it doesn’t have to be. Leaders who chose to say WE, and mean it, will never be lonely. Instead, they’ll feel supported, will spend time with people who will share the work and the success, willingly share their own ideas. They will be there in the good times and the not so good times, too.
Take heed generous leader: Choose your words wisely and log the time and you too may have such a team of your own!
